Friends of  Family Organization is happy to change lives through training women and Orphans in vegetable garden management in Buwalasi sub county Sironko District. This has enabled women and orphan to be able to grow onions, green paper, cabbages , carrots, cucumber, beet root , among other vegetables which has helped them to supplement on their diet and also get income through selling the surplus.

About 30 children received books, pens and pencils for the beginning of term . This was donated by Helle Pasgard from ALBORG Denmark.

A report by the Strengthening TB and HIV/AIDs Responses in Eastern Uganda (STAR-E) project revealed that Sironko district in Eastern Uganda has the highest HIV prevalence rate in the country, standing at 10.4% prevalence was derived from data collected from January to June (2011). Busia district is ranked second with a HIV prevalence of 8.2%, while Bududa has a 5.2% prevalence rate. The research indicates that some cultural issues are fuelling HIV transmission in the region, which should otherwise be registering low cases as a result of preventative measures such as circumcision among men.
